View and Edit AFV Settings
Before making any tuning changes or performing diagnostics or repairs on your EFI system, you should first view the current Adaptive Fuel Value, or AFV. This is essentially checking the "pulse" of the EFI system which can tell you what the overall health of your motorcycle is and/or how well it is tuned. A number higher than 100 means that the ECM is adding fuel to compensate for a sensed lean condition, and a number lower than 100 means it is removing fuel due to a sensed rich condition. Generally speaking, your AFV should be within 10% of 100. Excessively high or low AFV is often indicative of a mechanical problem such as an intake leak or faulty sensor. NO TUNE WILL OVERCOME A MECHANICAL DEFICIENCY OR DEFECT. THEREFORE, CHANGING THE TUNING SHOULD ONLY BE PERFORMED AFTER IT HAS BEEN DETERMINED THAT THE BIKE IS MECHANICALLY SOUND. Fortunately, Ecmdroid allows the user to view all sensor data in real time which is immensely helpful when performing diagnostics and troubleshooting. The tutorial for viewing Live Data is HERE. After performing any necessary adjustments and/or parts replacements the AFV can be changed back to 100.
- To view/edit AFV, select ECM Parameters from the dropdown menu in the top left corner.

- On this page you can view and change the AFV. On bikes with one O2 sensor, only the rear AFV is active.
- Selecting an AFV brings up an edit screen.
